Kendall College is proud to announce that Chicago Michelin Guide Restaurants have ranked it the number one Chicago program for preparing students for culinary arts careers, and the number one Chicago program for preparing students for hospitality management careers by managers at Chicago’s leading hotels, according to a survey conducted by ORC International (formerly Opinion Research Corporation).
MICHELIN Guide Chicago 2011 restaurant operators participated in the culinary arts survey interviews. Management at top-rated Chicago-area hotels, based on Conde Nast, Frommer’s, U.S. News and World Report, and MICHELIN Guide Chicago 2011, were interviewed for the hospitality management survey.
Respondents in each survey were read a randomized list of local, Chicago-area culinary or hospitality management schools and asked to “identify the program you would consider the number one local program in how well it prepares students to succeed in the culinary arts industry,” or to “identify the program you would consider the number one local program in how well it prepares students for managerial positions in the hospitality profession.” In addition to the culinary or hospitality schools listed, respondents were encouraged to rank other local schools of which they were aware. In the case of culinary as well as hospitality management surveys, the majority named Kendall College as the number one Chicago program for preparing students for culinary arts or hospitality management careers.
The industry research was designed, supervised and implemented by ORC International and sponsored by Kendall College. Interviewing was conducted via telephone in April and May, 2011. To maintain objectivity, the interviewing process did not reveal Kendall College to be the sponsor of the study until all questions in the survey were completed.
