Kendall Nominated for Venue of the Year by HSMAI

The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association Illinois Chapter has nominated Kendall College for its 2010 Venue of the Year Award. The winner will be determined by surveying hospitality professionals throughout Chicago and announced during the association’s awards banquet on November 30 in Chicago. HSMAI is a leading global organization of sales and marketing professionals representing all segments of the hospitality industry. HSMAI has nearly 7,000 members from 35 countries and chapters worldwide. The Illinois chapter is one of 38 in the Americas region.

During the award ceremony, a Kendall student selected based on an essay and faculty recommendation, will also be honored with a $1000 scholarship and an invitation to attend the HSMAI Leadership Conference in West Palm Beach Florida in February, 2011. Kendall’s School of Hospitality Management, under the leadership of associate professor Sapna Mangal, HSMAI board member and vice president of student leadership, is cooperating with HSMAI to develop the first student chapter of the organization in the Chicagoland area.
