Jose Miguel Gonzalez, consul general of Chile in Chicago, visited Kendall College on September 14, where he met with Dr. Nivine Megahed, president, and other college officials to discuss Kendall’s efforts in raising awareness of the school in Latin America through programs such as student exchanges with Chilean schools that are also part of the Laureate International Universities network. Currently, Universidad Andres Bello, Universidad de Las Americas, Escuela Moderna de Musica, Institute for Executive Development and Instituto Profesional are part of the Laureate network in Chile.
Also in attendance were the deans from each of Kendall’s programs as well as Rafael Alvarado, Director of International Admissions for Latin America, and Carolina Ordoñez, Trade Representative for the Consulate General of Chile in Chicago. As a result of the meeting, the group generated a number of ideas and valuable opportunities for Kendall College to expand its presence in Chile and serve a larger number of students from the country.
Additionally, in mid-October at Kendall, the Chilean Consulate sponsored a Chilean wine tasting and students were treated to a Chilean chef demonstrating Chilean cuisine.
